Del Bosque fears French test

Vicente del Bosque reckons France's failure to top Group D means a tougher quarter-final for Spain on Saturday.

England or Ukraine were expected to be the holders' last-eight opponents in Donetsk, but Les Bleus were beaten 2-0 by Sweden and finished second behind Roy Hodgson's side.

That is bad news for the Spanish, according to del Bosque, who said: "They are definitely the most difficult opponent of the three we could have ended up with.

"They will play the way they know and try to seize the initiative. I don't expect them to play defensively, but their turn to defend will certainly come.

"Let's see what happens. The French do not suffer from any inferiority complex and neither will we."

France dismal performance against the Swedes failed to impress manager Laurent Blanc, who said: "After such a game, it's hard to picture how we can beat Spain."
