This is the era of epidemic of Internet & Sophisticated scams. One such scam is Mobile Lottery Scam. Let me discuss you today that How Mobile Lottery Scam Works?

Well, a fraudster first of all gets a huge number of mobile list from data vendors. There are several data vendors in the market who buy and sell data of customers’ contact details. Once the scammers find the list of contact number. They simply send the “Lottery Winning SMS” of some big Company or some Indo-American-African Lottery to literally hundreds of thousands of people.

So literally hundreds of thousands of people receive a Lottery Winning SMS at a time. Say for example,
”Hello, Congratulations, You have just won US $ 10 Million of Lottery from Indo-African Mega Lottery. To Claim your Money please e-mail us at so and so address.”

Now all the people are not financially educated. And some are greedy also. So what they do is, they e-mail and claim the lottery.

The real Scam starts now. The scammer will send a reply and confirm that you won that lottery and they will send your money to your country via Diplomatic Courier. But for that you have to pay some extra costs for smooth delivery of your money. And they will ask you for few thousand bugs.

This is a trap. If you really won a million dollar lottery than why the lottery agency asks for few thousand dollars for you? This is a trap. And if you give this money, you will never get it back.

Another trap is that, How can you win a million dollar lottery if you have never bought a lottery ticket? Ask yourself this question - “How can I win a Lottery especially I have never bought or fill any Lottery Ticket in my life?”

So the key to escape yourself from Mobile Lottery Scam is educate yourself & Don’t be Greedy. Financial Education is the key to protect yourself from such type of scams.
