Azim Premji is the Billionaire Business Tycoon and the Chairman of Wipro, India’s third largest software company. His estimated net worth is US $ 17.5 Billion according to Forbes in 2010 making him India’s second richest person after Mukesh Ambani (Net Worth $ 19.5 Billion). Azim Premji owns 74% of Wipro Technologies stake through his Wipro Limited.

He is the Top 100 Most influential persons of the world and his company Wipro Technologies is World’s Top 100 software companies.

Azim Premji was born in 1945 in Karachi, Pakistan in Gujarati Khoja-Shia Muslim family. Right now he is residing in Bangalore. His father was also a business tycoon who owned Western India Products Limited (The Full form of WIPRO). The core business of WIPRO was vegetable oil and fats.

Azim Premji comes from a Business family and his grandfather was a rice king of Burma.

After that Azim joined WIPRO and expand it into other product lines such as ethnic ingredient based toiletries, hair care soaps, baby toiletries, lighting products, and hydraulic cylinders. Thereafter Premji made a focused shift from soaps to software. Well, Yes. He is a soaps to software billionaire.

Premji is married to Yasmeen, the couple have two children, Rishad and Tariq. Rishad is married to Aditi and is currently the Chief Strategy Officer of IT Business, Wipro Technologies.
