"There's a broader lesson to be learned here. Gov. Romney seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later," Obama said in an interview with CBS News's Steve Kroft that was scheduled before four Americans were killed Tuesday at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

"As president, one of the things I've learned is you can't do that," Obama added. "It's important for you to make sure that the statements that you make are backed up by the facts and that you've thought through the ramifications before you make them."

In their fantasy world, all the complex global changes of the world since World War II have never happened. In their fantasy America, all problems have simple solutions -- simple and wrong.

It's a make-believe world, a world of good guys and bad guys where some politicians shoot first and ask questions later.

"Shoot first and aim later"?

You mean like blurting out the fact that Egypt's no longer an ally?

Criticism of the president's foreign policy by the opposition party never appeared to be much of an issue for vintage media when George W. Bush was in office.

Harry Reid's despicable declaration that "this war is lost" comes to mind. Or the Democrats' slanderous rhetoric about U.S. troops in Iraq.

Egypt's New President Reaches Out To ... Iran

That didn’t take long. Only a day went by before Egypt's President-elect Mohamed Morsi said he intends to restore "normal relations" with Iran to achieve "strategic regional balance."

Now the race is in on.

Who’ll be first to reach that goal, Mohamed Morsi or Barack Hussein Obama?

As I wrote more than four years -- in May of 2008, to be precise -- "Barack Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like Patton."

The scene: President George W. Bush, then in the midst of a visit to Israel, warned against a policy of appeasement with Iran.

Bud Simmons reminds us of the old saying: "When a stone is thrown into a pack of wolves, the one that yelps is the one that is hit."

Barack Obama immediately yelped with a faux anger that smacked of political calculation.

George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the President's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel."

In a speech this week, Obama reiterated his position: "I have never said I would negotiate with terrorists.”



Unfortunately for Sen. Obama, his own official campaign web site contradicts his assertions.

Diplomacy: Obama is the only major candidate who supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. Now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior.

I hate to say I told you so, but here we are four years later. Barack Obama has accomplished absolutely nothing in the Middle East -- other than make it infinitely more dangerous.

Picture Story: Party of Weakness

This is one of Iran's medium-range missiles, which it is placing on Venezuelan soil according to a November 25, 2010 report in Die Welt.

The same report asserts that Venezuela will permit Iran to open a military facility staffed with Iranian missile officers and soldiers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Medium-range missiles launched from this base could reach cities in the United States; a likely first-strike scenario involves the detonation of EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) weapons over the continental U.S.

Where did Iran get such sensitive missile guidance and avionics technologies? Western intelligence services pin the blame on China, which reportedly sold the Mullahs the Nasr-1, -2 and other missile technologies.

These missiles are now mass-produced by Iran, but were "originally developed and built in China, and have been advertised as being in service with the Chinese armed forces."

Missile technologies are only part of the problem. This is an Iranian defector, the former diplomat Mohammad Reza Heydari. He and others report that North Korea has collaborated with Iran on the design of nuclear weapons, including warhead design techniques.

This is a Pyongyang military parade that took place in October. The military dictatorship has become increasingly belligerent since it detonated a small fission weapon and demonstrated increasing expertise with missile guidance systems.

And where did North Korea get its nuclear- and missile-guidance technologies? Experts point to China, with scientists stating that, "[t]here is no possibility of North Korea achieving what nuclear capability it has without Chinese help."

It is worth asking: how did Red China move so quickly to acquire sophisticated missile guidance and other avionic technologies?

In 1998, in an unprecedented repudiation of the wishes of numerous defense and intelligence officials, President William J. Clinton signed a waiver allowing a sophisticated Loral satellite to be launched into orbit by a Chinese rocket.

Why would Clinton sign such a waiver when it risked allowing sophisticated weapons guidance technology to fall into Chinese hands? In fact, Loral would later plead "no contest to a long list of U.S. national security violations, including the unauthorized transfer of missile guidance technology to the Chinese army."

This is Clinton with the chairman of Loral, Bernard L. Schwartz, who coincidentally was the largest single donor to the entire Democrat Party in 1997.

Clinton repeatedly met with and entertained other Democrat contributors -- several of whom turned out to be operatives of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). Exactly what they got for their money remains unknown to the general public.

That is because full investigative report of the Clinton administration's actions is embodied in The Cox Report, the complete version of which is still classified "Top Secret". Its summary, however, is enough to send chills down the reader's spine: The People’s Republic of China (PRC) has stolen design information on the United States’ most advanced thermonuclear weapons.

In short, Clinton and the Democrats allowed sensitive technologies to escape to China. Later they rippled from China to rogue terror states like Iran and North Korea.

Thus, thanks in large part to the wanton greed and criminality of the Democrat National Committee and Bill Clinton, subsequent generations of Americans will be needlessly exposed to the risk of rogue regimes gaining access to America's most sensitive nuclear and missile guidance secrets.

"The missile technology passed by Loral and Hughes to the Chinese army has matured into a nuclear-tipped monster called the DF-31, which can waste whole American cities in a blinding flash of nuclear hell... ...the results of years of abuse during the 1990s remain with us well into the 21st century." -- (source)

Egypt outlines evidence in case against Americans

CAIRO (AP) — Egyptian judges say the evidence collected in the case against 19 Americans referred to court for their alleged involvement in banned political activity through nonprofit groups includes maps, cash and videos taken of churches and military facilities.

Egypt's crackdown on pro-democracy and rights groups has soured relations between Cairo and Washington, which has warned Egypt that it could cut some $1.5 billion in aid over the dispute.

Sameh Abu-Zeid, one of two judges investigating the case, for the first time outlined for reporters Wednesday the evidence authorities have collected in the investigation.

The comments echoed allegations repeatedly made by Egypt's ruling military council that "foreign hands" are plotting unrest in Egypt.

Among the Americans referred to court is the son of U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

Egypt: Islamists consolidate gains in 2nd round of parliamentary elections

CAIRO — Islamist parties have consolidated earlier gains in Egypt’s multistage parliamentary elections, winning nearly 70 percent of the seats determined so far, according to results announced Saturday.

...the Muslim Brotherhood says it won around 86 of estimated 180 seats up for grabs in the round, or 47 percent. The Al-Nour Party, the political arm of the ultraconservative Salafi movement, won around 20 percent of the vote.

The secular and liberal forces that largely drove Egypt’s uprising against former leader Hosni Mubarak were trounced, failing to turn their achievement into a victory at the polls. The secular alliance of Egyptian Bloc and youth Revolution Continues won less than 10 percent of the seats.

...A third round of voting is to be held Jan. 3-4. It is not expected to alter the result and could strengthen the Islamists’ hand.

Just to keep everything straight in my mind... as I understand it, the Obama Doctrine consists of the president staying completely silent on:

...Iran's continual threats to wipe America and Israel "off the face of the Earth"

...the transit of the Suez Canal by Iranian warships in an outright provocation of Israel
...Iranian military personnel operating with impunity in Venezuela on missile technology
...a failed narco-terror state descending into civil war on our unprotected southern border

However, the president is willing to courageously speak out on:

...how our Egyptian ally Mubarak should leave office and/or stay but work on "an orderly transition"
...how Libya's rebels -- who turned out to be hard-core Islamists aligned with Al Qaeda -- are worthy of our military support
...and how Israel's construction of apartments in its capital city is a "provocation"

Official Confirms Authenticity of Iranian TV Images Showing Lost U.S. Drone

A senior U.S. official has confirmed to Fox News that images aired by Iranian state television do in fact show the secret U.S. drone that went down last week in eastern Iran.

"Yep, that's it," the official told Fox News. "And it's intact."

U.S. officials had been expecting the video to appear. The footage, which shows the aircraft intact, confirms the Iranians have custody of the drone but appears to refute Iranian claims that it shot down the RQ-170 drone.

With early knowledge that the aircraft had likely remained intact, the senior U.S. official also told Fox News that President Obama was presented with three separate options for retrieving or destroying the drone. The president ultimately decided not to proceed with any of the plans because it could have been seen as an act of war, the official told Fox News.

Among the options the U.S. considered were sending in a special-ops team to retrieve the drone; sending in a team to blow up the aircraft; and launching an airstrike to destroy it.

NATO initially said the drone may have been one that was flying a mission over western Afghanistan before operators "lost control" of it. Officials have since acknowledged that the drone was part of a joint CIA-military reconnaissance mission.

One official told Fox News on Thursday that the incident is a huge loss and makes the top-secret helicopter tail lost during the Usama bin Laden raid in Pakistan "look like a pittance." The official said there are real fears the Iranians will share this technology with the Russians and the Chinese, in addition to using it themselves.

There's a good reason that the Democrat Party has, since the days of James Earl Carter, been known as The Party of Weakness™.

Welcome to the New Middle East, or What I Like to Call "The Obama Caliphate"

Perhaps some Democrat foreign policy expert -- if there is such a thing -- can explain "The Obama Doctrine" to me. Let's review, shall we?

• Tunisia - democratic elections in this once-peaceful Mediterranean state have installed an Islamist party. Curiously, the aptly named State Department blog ("DipNote") congratulated the country's new extremist overlords.

• Libya - a NATO-supported rebel force helped defeat the terrorist dictator Muammar Gaddafi, but also left the country in control of one Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, who has declared his government's "fealty to Shariah, Islam's brutally repressive, totalitarian political-military-legal doctrine."

• Egypt - once the peaceful ally of both Israel and the United States, the overthrow of President Mubarak was quickly and publicly supported by President Obama. In Mubarak's place, a hard-core Islamist leadership has arisen under the direction of the feared Muslim Brotherhood. The country's downtrodden Coptic Christian community is also being systematically eliminated, the hallmark of religous governments in majority Islamic countries.

• Syria - a similar anti-government rebellion in Syria was curiously ignored by the administration, leading to the slaughter of at least 3,000 civilians by Iran's puppet dictator Bashar al-Assad.

• Iran - Likewise, a liberal, democratic revolt in Iran against the country's extremist leaders -- the so-called "Green Revolution" -- was brutally repressed with nary a word from President Obama. The country's thinly veiled pursuit of nuclear warheads therefore continues apace.

• Iraq - is slated for abandonment by the end of the year to the tender mercies of Iran's Mullahs (coincidentally, just in time for the 2012 campaign)

• Israel - our most steadfast ally in the entire world was told in no uncertain terms by President Obama to unilaterally withdraw to its 1967 borders, otherwise known as the "Holocaust lines".

We are witnessing something historic. But not-in-a-good-way historic. The die has been cast for a new and even more hyper-violent Middle East.

Grim milestone: Barack Obama surpasses Jimmy Carter again, this time when it comes to America's pessimism about the future

Nothing says "change" like this headline: "Americans’ Economic Pessimism Grows, With Gloom ‘Pervasive’:

[A] CBS/New York Times poll from June ... showed that over the last year, more Americans have come to believe the current economic downturn is part of a long-term permanent decline and that the economy will never fully recover. In October 2010, 28% of respondents agreed with that statement, versus 39% last month...

..."Americans are so pessimistic about the economy now ... . And the level of public pessimism is actually higher than the deep 1981-82 recession overall," due to grim personal outlooks on a number of issues like jobs, retirement and health care, says Karlyn Bowman, a senior fellow at AEI who co-authored the report...

Mark Levin has said for years that "liberalism is the philosophy of the stupid."

You would think after a pair like Carter and Obama, Americans would have learned their lesson. Electing leftists to high office is somewhat akin to giving a 16-year old boy a fifth of Cuervo and the keys to the Ferrari.

That is: many scenarios can play out -- and every single one of them is catastrophic.

My critics on Twitter revel in the standard class warfare rhetoric endemic to failed revolutions throughout history. The French Revolution. Russia in 1917. Peron in Argentina. The game-plan is always the same: demonize the rich, attack private industry, segregate political constituencies by race, gender, creed and religion in order to prey upon the weak-willed.

Such is the recipe of one Barack Obama, who has attacked industry after industry: coal miners, oil companies, health insurers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical professionals, and "millionaires and billionaires", among others.

The following are the kinds of messages I often receive on Twitter:

• Maybe we should just hand over country to REpub/CorpAmerica

• I found that Laws are about controlling WallSt,but we suffer too. Loopholes/oxymoron clauses have brought #us to the brink.

• UR to smart NOT to believe CorpAmerica wants to pay any Taxes

Unfortunately, we've bankrupted the Treasury with the alternative: the collectivist roadmap. And it's failed like it's failed every other time in history. Central planning by masterminds in some far-off capitol has a perfect track record. Zero-for-Eternity.

Remember that "Stimulus" program? How's that working out for ya', Sparky? Or the Department of Education? Working out swimmingly for low-income students? And that solar technology in which Jimmy Carter invested billions of taxpayer dollars? Remember how it revolutionized our energy infrastructure?

Spewing Marxist class warfare rhetoric is simply indicative of a lack of education.

To paraphrase Milton Friedman: who are these angels on Earth that can redistribute everyone's wealth?

There isn't a corporation on Earth that can force you to pay it whether you want to or not.

There isn't a corporation on the planet that can throw you in jail for failure to adhere to its millions of pages of laws, regulations and dictates.

There isn't a corporation anywhere that can make you buy a one-size-fits-all health care plan, or a certain kind of light bulb, or a low-flow toilet, or a certain kind of car, and so on and on.

There isn't a corporation anywhere that can command you -- the citizen -- to participate in multi-trillion dollar Ponzi schemes like Medicare, set to collapse in only ten short years.

No, there isn't any corporation powerful enough to do these things.

Only a giant, enormous, bloated federal government can ruin our economy in these ways. And, then, only because a certain group of power-hungry, easily corrupted politicians, lawyers and judges have ignored our highest law: the Constitution.

Our Framers created the Constitution to prevent the rise of an all-powerful, autocratic, authoritarian central government.

It wasn't the corporations that have ruined the economy: it's the politicians who violate their oath of office every day of the week. That's what the Tea Party is all about. And that is why every one concerned with the future of America should support Constitutional conservatism.

The Obama administration said for the first time that it supports a role for groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood, a banned Islamist organization, in a reformed Egyptian government.

The organization must reject violence and recognize democratic goals if the U.S. is to be comfortable with it taking part in the government, the White House said ... by saying the Muslim Brotherhood “must reject violence and recognize democratic goals”, the White House is presupposing that the Muslim Brotherhood accepts violence and does not recognize democratic goals.

Notwithstanding that, the White House is perfectly happy to give them a seat at the table.

It’s 1979 all over again. I hope the Embassy has been fully evacuated.

I truly fear for the future of our country.

Remember what President Obama's speech in Cairo was called? Yep, "A New Beginning". Can we go back to the old beginning now?

President Obama's dramatic speech in Cairo in June of 2009 -- intended to sway the Arab masses to the side of the United States, one supposes -- was called "A New Beginning". It certainly was, just not the beginning we'd hoped for.

We meet at a time of great tension between the United States and Muslims around the world... Oh, how we yearn for those days of 'great tension'

...I've come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles -- principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings... Riiiiiiiiiiiiight

...I know there's been a lot of publicity about this speech... Yes, we were all waiting with baited breath ... but no single speech can eradicate years of mistrust... As the Holy Koran tells us, "Be conscious of God and speak always the truth"... I'll withhold comment, Mr. We'll-hold-the-healthcare-hearings-on-C-Span

...I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed... Consider the 'new beginning' thus far:

• Pakistan is said to have increased its stockpile of nuclear weapons, secretly surpassing India's level of atomic arms. In addition, Pakistan is becoming 'enveloped by Islamists' as radicals hold more and more sway over the people and the government.

• The government of Egypt is about to fall, threatening a replay of the 1979 Iranian revolution in which a populist democratic movement was quickly subsumed by a well-organized and violent cadre of religious extremists. Unlike Iran, however, Egypt's "military is a powerhouse in the region, possessing hundreds of advanced tanks and fighter aircraft that could fall into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood.

• Lebanon is under new management: the vicious, Iranian-backed group called Hezbollah, which is responsible for the terrorist attack that killed 241 U.S. Marines in Beirut. Their aim is written into their charter -- to destroy Israel, Britain and the United States

• Tunisia is in the throes of its own revolution with hard-line radical Islamists poised to take control of the government

• Iran continues its work on nuclear armaments and intercontinental ballistic missile technologies, its steady progress delayed only by a clever cyber-attack

• Gaza's Hamas-led government is reportedly importing a new strain of Iranian extremists; Hezbollah agents are said to be making their way into the Palestinian enclave to train soldiers for an attack on Israel; in their spare time Hamas is lobbing missiles into Israel

• Venezuela, Hugo Chavez' dictatorship, is now said to be fielding Iranian military personnel and missiles with 'scientific' collaboration revolving around warhead design and nuclear technology

• The military regime of North Korea recently torpedoed a South Korean warship and is threatening to retest its nuclear weapons. It was also busted importing nuclear technology into Syria and has -- as a bonus -- assisted Iran with its development of missile guidance technologies

• China is on the move: building aircraft carriers, stealth fighters, locking up energy contracts all over the world, and generally preparing to occupy Taiwan and -- eventually -- regions closer to the U.S. All the while, it uses North Korea as a proxy for delivering advanced technologies to rogue regimes to ensure that the United States can never rest easy

• According to a disclosure in Wikileaks, Al-Qaida is "on the brink" of using a nuclear weapon and is far closer to deployment of chemical and biological weapons than previously believed.

Can we go back to the 'old beginning' now?

It certainly didn't take long for the Islamists to use Israel as a scapegoat for Mubarak's pathetic regime.

In truth, the Muslim Brotherhood is positioning the weak-willed Muhammad ElBaradei as a puppet president who they will control. Ambassador John Bolton says that ElBaradei is a joke on the Arab street; the only folks who take him seriously are the likes of Christiane Amanpour and the typical cadre of dupes in legacy media.

The Muslim Brotherhood has a long history of support for terrorism -- and even sided with the Third Reich during World War II, drawing "symbolism, terminology, and political priorities [from] Nazi fascism."

And to illustrate precisely how feckless the Obama administration has been during this Carter-esque debacle, Sky News reports this comforting news.

Washington has been taken by surprise with the speed of events in Egypt, it was only a few days ago that Mrs Clinton said the government there was 'stable'.

I'm not sure who said it but they were right: we've finally located Jimmy Carter's long-lost second term.

The circle is now complete. This week Barack Obama truly became what many people believe he was all along, the long lost second term of Jimmy Carter’s presidency. The parallel between the snakebit presidency of Carter and the snakebit Presidency of Obama is stunning...

How is Obama handling such a crisis in order to not let it go to waste? The exact same way that Jimmy Carter let the congruent 1979 situation in Iran go to waste.

First he criticized the weakened leader of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak. Next Obama threatened to emasculate Mubarak’s standing with the Egyptian military by reducing US financial aid if Mubarak didn’t allow the protests and revolution in the streets to continue.

Obama followed up by tacitly signaling that he supports the violent Islamic protests which are backed by the Shariah-compliant extremists of the Moslem Brotherhood, which is the only real opposition party in Egypt to the thirty-year dictator Mubarak. After that, like Carter, Obama showed constant indecision and weakness, which is having the result of undermining our allies and empowering the forces of insanity and evil on the ground in Egypt and other destabilized countries in the region like Tunisia, Lebanon and Jordan.

Just like Carter, Obama got us to this point by undermining our only ally in the area, Israel, and empowering all of her regional enemies for the first two years of his presidency. That undermining has led us directly to these out of control events.

At this moment, of the four nations that border Israel, two of them, Syria and Lebanon, are client states of Iran waging constant war and the other two which both have brokered peace are facing internal turmoil, Jordan is facing Islamic protests in her streets and the relatively stable tourist destination Egypt, is exploding in revolution.

...Iran has been a bastion of total evil since Jimmy Carter allowed her to become an Islamic theocracy in 1979. No country in the world has been more responsible for atrocious evil acts than Iran in all of these years and is now at the doorstep of possessing nuclear weapons. All of this pain is the Jimmy Carter legacy bequeathed upon our generation...

The irony is not lost on David. As Obama travels down the same path as Carter, the nation celebrates the 100th anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth.

The contrast between Democrats and Republicans could not be more clearly delineated than during crises like these.

Walking Back the Wildcat

This is one of Iran's medium-range missiles, which it is placing on Venezuelan soil according to a November 25, 2010 report in Die Welt.

The same report asserts that Venezuela will permit Iran to open a military facility staffed with Iranian missile officers and soldiers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Medium-range missiles launched from this base could reach cities in the United States; a likely first-strike scenario involves the detonation of EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) weapons over the continental U.S.

Where did Iran get such sensitive missile guidance and avionics technologies? Western intelligence services pin the blame on China, which reportedly sold the Mullahs the Nasr-1, -2 and other missile technologies.

These missiles are now mass-produced by Iran, but were "originally developed and built in China, and have been advertised as being in service with the Chinese armed forces."

Missile technologies are only part of the problem. This is an Iranian defector, the former diplomat Mohammad Reza Heydari. He and others report that North Korea has collaborated with Iran on the design of nuclear weapons, including warhead design techniques.

This is a Pyongyang military parade that took place in October. The military dictatorship has become increasingly belligerent since it detonated a small fission weapon and demonstrated increasing expertise with missile guidance systems.

And where did North Korea get its nuclear- and missile-guidance technologies? Experts point to China, with scientists stating that, "[t]here is no possibility of North Korea achieving what nuclear capability it has without Chinese help."

It is worth asking: how did Red China move so quickly to acquire sophisticated missile guidance and other avionic technologies?

In 1998, in an unprecedented repudiation of the wishes of numerous defense and intelligence officials, President William J. Clinton signed a waiver allowing a sophisticated Loral satellite to be launched into orbit by a Chinese rocket.

Why would Clinton sign such a waiver when it risked allowing sophisticated weapons guidance technology to fall into Chinese hands? In fact, Loral would later plead "no contest to a long list of U.S. national security violations, including the unauthorized transfer of missile guidance technology to the Chinese army."

This is Clinton with the chairman of Loral, Bernard L. Schwartz, who coincidentally was the largest single donor to the entire Democrat Party in 1997.

Clinton repeatedly met with and entertained other Democrat contributors -- several of whom turned out to be operatives of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). Exactly what they got for their money remains unknown to the general public.

That is because full investigative report of the Clinton administration's actions is embodied in The Cox Report, the complete version of which is still classified "Top Secret". Its summary, however, is enough to send chills down the reader's spine: The People’s Republic of China (PRC) has stolen design information on the United States’ most advanced thermonuclear weapons.

In short, Clinton and the Democrats allowed sensitive technologies to escape to China. Later they rippled from China to rogue terror states like Iran and North Korea.

Thus, thanks in large part to the wanton greed and criminality of the Democrat National Committee and Bill Clinton, subsequent generations of Americans will be needlessly exposed to the risk of rogue regimes gaining access to America's most sensitive nuclear and missile guidance secrets.
