Recently, J D Roth of GRS (Get Rich Slowly) Blog has hire few Personal Finance Authors on his Blog because J D is planning to write a book on Personal Finance. & for that he wants to take a 1 year of break from his Blog GRS.

How to Transfer your Blog from Blogspot to Private Domain Name?

How to transfer your Blogger Blog from Blogspot to Private Domain Name?

Recently a reader has asked me a question,

“Dear Asav,

I must congratulate you for successfully running your blog and seeing all your hard work getting success.

I am also running my blog and want transfer it to my domain. As you have recently transferred your blog to your own domain, can you plz help me in following areas:

1. to start my blog in my own domain, what do i have to do? do I need to develop whole website or there is some easier way?

2. google has a clause of minimum 6 months of successful running blog to get google adsense; if I am running my blog since 1 year, can I apply for displaying adsense on my domain or new website which I want to start.

Well, let me tell you the exact procedure of transferring your blogger blog to the private Domain.

Step:1 Buy a Domain Name. I Prefer GoDaddy.com simply because it is the market leader. Google also recommends GoDaddy to buy a private Domain Name. GoDaddy is very easy to use. But before buying a Domain name, you have to check the availability of that Domain Name on GoDaddy. If it is available than Proceed to check out and pay $ 10 (1 Year Fee). The Domain Name will be in your GoDaddy account right away.

Step:2 Log on to your Blogger account and go to Settings –> Publishing –> Private Domain/Advanced Settings Option.  First of all click on “Switch to Private Domain” Option. Now Enter your new Domain Name in the “Your Domain” Option and click Ok.

Step:3 Now Login into your GoDaddy Account and Click on your Domain Name. You will be redirected to the Domains Control Panel. Click on “Total DNC Control” Button at the bottom of the Total DNS Section.

Here you have to change the CNAME of your server. See the first Host name under CNAME. It will be www. Click on the Modify Button and change the CNAME from @ to ghs.google.com

And Click Ok.

You are Done….!!!!

Let me tell you in layman’s language that what you have done. You have changed the CNAME of your Domain name and give your Blogger/Google Server the Command to transfer the Domain Name of your Blogspot Blog.

It will take 24-48 hours. Because once you give this command, Google & GoDaddy have to inform every server in this world that, they are doing so with your permission. After 24 hours, your Blog will be transferred.

You don’t need to build any another website for this. Once you do this, Your Domain Name will be on GoDaddy & your Blog will be hosted on the same FREE Blogspot Host.

Now, suppose, if you want to change your Host to the private host than the procedure is technically difficult. I advise Hostgator.com as a Best Private Hosting provider. But unless your Blog is earning few thousand dollars every month, No need to shift to private Host….

Now comes your second query about Google AdSense account opening. Yes, you are right. Your Blog MUST be more than 6 months old before it gets adsense approval. And yeah, it MUST have more than 150-200 posts for approval….

You say that, you are a new Blogger, so the effect of shifting your blog to a private domain on web traffic is not a question for you. But in my case, the web traffic was deteriorated for few weeks when i transferred “My Journey To Billionaire Club” on private Domain from Blogspot.com

After more than 1 year of Blogging, “My Journey To Billionaire Club” (MJ2BC) has started making a good profit. This profit is sufficient enough to cover all the Domain & Private Hosting Costs. So after a lots of mind work and market research, I have decided to re-invest this profit.

So I have finally decided to Launch Investments, Business & Personal Finance Forum. I was looking for a good Brand Name for this Forum. And after several weeks of search, Today I have finalize the Name of this New Forum.

The Name of this Forum will be - “Investta”

Investta is a Typo of “Investment”. After so much of research & mind work I have finalize the Name “Investta” for this New Forum.

So as a First step to secure this Brand Name, I have Register a Domain Name with Godaddy.com. The Domain Name for new Finance Forum is Investta.com.

Right Now this Domain Name is parked on Sedo.com

Right Now I am working behind launching this New Forum. I have observed that, There are not many Investments, Business, Entrepreneurship & Personal Finance Forums on the web. So Right now I am working behind designing this new Forum.

I won’t be able to launch “Investta” before Mid 2010. Because right now I am busy with my Post Graduate Course here at D.Y.Patil University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India.

But I will try my Best to launch this Forum as early as possible. Basically My Vision is to launch such a Forum that covers all the Money Matters, Business & Investment Opportunities in this world. Unfortunately, I am stuck with the busy schedule over here. So I don’t know that when will I get time to launch this Forum?

But I will try my Best to launch this Forum as early as possible. But at this point, it is very early to launch the Forum because I have bought the Domain Name just few hours before. So I think that I should allow google to Index this Domain Name first. Than and only I can think of launching a new Forum on it.

My Google Page Rank Becomes Zero

My Google Page Rank has Changed to Zero.

As all of you know that, I have recently transferred my Blog to the private Domain. I have only changed the Domain Name. I am still using Google/Blogger’s Free Hosting Service.

This decision was necessary because after more than 1 year of constant blogging, “My Journey To Billionaire Club” emerged as a Financial Education Brand. Several people around this world have appreciated this Brand and its valuable role in providing Best Financial Education.

And that’s why I have transferred “My Journey To Billionaire Club” (MJ2BC) from .Blogspot.com to the private Domain .Com

Before transferring MJ2BC on private Domain, its Google Page rank was 3 which was quite good. But after transferring it on to the private Domain, The Page rank of both the Domains (Blogspot & Private) goes to suddenly ZERO which was expected by me before.

Fortunately, the web traffic is not altered at all. I was expecting some huge down side fluctuations in the web traffic of this blog. But surprisingly, the web traffic of this Blog has not been altered at all but in fact it is growing.

The second thing I have noticed is, Google is indexing my posts right away into its Index. I was expecting 2-3 months of delay in Indexing. But this is a good news for me.

So Let’s Hope that, Google gives back MJ2BC’s previous page rank soon. Because reputation with Google is very much important in Online Success….!!!!!

Blogger Hosting Versus Hostgator

Recently I have shifted “My Journey To Billionaire Club” from .blogspot.com Domain to the private Domain. Click Here to read the Article.

I have only change the Domain name of this blog yet. But I have not changed the Blogger/Google Hosting right now. Basically right now I am using the Free Hosting by Google/Blogger. And I am quiet comfortable with it.

In fact, I have read several reviews about Blogger’s Free Hosting on the web and they are all quiet satisfactory. If the Best Company on the Web Google gives you a FREE Hosting than I think there is no need to go with any Host at all.

But there are certain Limitations of Google/Blogger Hosting & that’s why I will have to shift this Blog to the World’s Best Private Host – HostGator.com in the future.

- First of all I want to expand the Product Line of this Blog by adding Podcast & Videocast in the future. And I can’t upload Podcasts & other Audio Files on Blogger Hosting. I will need a private Hosting for that.

- Another thing is that, I want to launch a Money & Finance Discussion Forum in the near future. Again that will require a private Hosting because Blogger Hosting won’t allow me to Host a Forum on it.

In short, I want to expand my Blogging Business in many ways. So for Now, The FREE Blogger Hosting is perfect Hosting Solution for me but in future when this Blog will reach the Next Level, I will have to shift to the HostGator.com

Finance Blogs India

Finally I have shifted “My Journey To Billionaire Club”, Finance Blog India to the private Domain last week. Now “My Journey To Billionaire Club” is a Brand Name. And it means Financial Education.

I want to know from you that, Which other Finance / Personal Finance Blogs of India you read other than “My Journey To Billionaire Club”?

Basically I have search the web for “Finance Blogs India” but I couldn’t find any Professionally run Blog in this Category. Do you know that Which are the Personal Finance, Investing, Business & Entrepreneurship Blogs of India? Because I want to add good Blogs in my Blog Roll.

There are lots of Finance Blogs all around the world but I think India is lacking in this Niche. I haven’t find a single professionally managed Finance Blog in India. I have also searched Indiblogger.in but I haven’t find anyone.

My Journey To Billionaire Club – New Birth

“My Journey To Billionaire Club” – New Birth: A HORRIBLE Experience…!!!

Finally Today is the New Birth of “My Journey To Billionaire Club” Blog. Today I have shifted MJ2BC on Private Domain myjourneytobillionaireclub.com rather than myjourneytobillionaireclub.blogspot.com

This Blog has started making sufficient profit every month from Google AdSense after almost 1 and half years of Blogging (Since March 2008). So I have decided to shift this Blog to the private Domain. The Brand Name “My Journey To Billionaire Club” will be the same. The only difference will be that, now you can simply type Myjourneytobillionaireclub.com instead of Myjourneytobillionaireclub.Blogspot.com.

I have register the Domain Name with GoDaddy.com. The Google/Blogger will continue to Host the Blog. I have right now not buy my own private third party hosting. Because I am comfortable with the current Hosting by Blogger.

Google/Blogger claims that, shifting your Blogger Blog to private Domain Name won’t affect your back links, web traffic & Google Page Rank. But I have surf the web and find on several forums that, It will definitely affect the Page Rank and web traffic of this Blog. on Blogspot.com, the Google PR was 3 and on this Domain PR is 0 right now.

Hopefully, Google preserve the search engine rankings and web traffic of this Blog.

I am really happy today that, I have shifted this Blog to the Private Domain rather than the FREE Public Domain.

Honestly speaking, the process of shifting this blog to the old domain was horrible for me. Because I am not a Techie. I was struggling since last more than 10 days behind this and Finally I got Success. But shifting this Blog to the Private Domain was necessary because the size of this Blog was growing in many parameters (Blog Achieves, Feed Readers, Web Traffic, Revenue…etc).

And that’s why I have decided to create a New Brand in this World. And this Brand is - “My Journey To Billionaire Club”. Yes, MJ2BC is a Brand Name Now.

And ultimately my PASSION to educate people about Personal Finance, Business, Investing & Entrepreneurship turned into an Internet Business Today.

So From Now onwards, “My Journey To Billionaire Club” is a new Brand in this world which will teach people the subject of Money, Finance, Business, Entrepreneurship & Investing.

Well, Friends……

Today I was playing with some new Blogger Templates & I finally end up with this template.

Unfortunately, I am not a Techie….. So I lost all of the widgets of the previous Template & in this new Template the RSS Feed reader goes to most down part of the Template…….

I swear that, I will never try to change my blog template until I learn all of the basics………

Right now I am working on the previous widgets as I lost all the previous widgets……

Google has Unlocked my Blog….I am Back……

At Last, Google has considered my Request & it has unlocked “MY Journey To Billionaire Club”.

Just 2 Days back, Google Bot has locked MJ2BC after considering it as a Spam.

Just few hours back, When I opened my Blogger Account, I found that, Google has unlocked this blog after reviewing it.

They have confirmed that, This Blog is not a Spam & Finally released this Blog from their Custody. Now I can post as much posts as I want.

I am really thankful to all of you who have commented on the previous post and requested Google that This Blog is not a Spam. It is because of your request, Google has considered my request to unlock this Blog.

I am thankful to Jaladhi Desai, Bhavin, Chirag Jethmalani, Soham, Mishti, Sherin & Raag Vamdatt for their valuable request to google.

I am also thankful to 2 other people who have not commented but when I asked for their help via e-mail, they have replied me within few hours.

Both of them are the famous Personal Finance Bloggers. When I have contacted them via e-mail, they are so much kind that they have replied me within few hours. I am a great fan & a follower of their great Blogs. Here they are…….

When I have e-mailed J D for his urgent help, he had replied soon and gave me the assurance that,

“I've had similar things happen before on other blogs. Google should have included a link that would lead you to the review process. They want you to submit a review request so that they know there's a real human behind the blog. You should follow that. If I knew anybody at Google, I'd help you, but I don't. Your best bet is to follow the procedures they outline. I think they will listen to you...”

Not only this. But I hade posted this issue to Get Rich Slowly Forum also. And one of their moderator Cleverbeans has assisted me in solving this query.

Cleverbeans has given me the following Golden advise for my Blog. Thank you Cleverbeans….!!!

Cleverbeans has raised the nice issue. According to him, this blog looks like an advertisement & the English language is not proper. Yes, This is true. I am not a native English speaker.

Well, I need to seriously reconsider about the design. As I am not a Techie…. So it is very difficult for me to redesign this blog. But i think i should take some professional help.

02) Lazy Man & Money -

Another Personal Finance Blog, I follow & suggest anyone is Lazyman & Money. When I have contacted to its owner, He has replied within few hours of my e-mail.

“Get your own domain and host it with wordpress software. If you let
someone else (like Google) control your words this is always a risk
you take.

I don't know how to get Google to change...”

Lazyman’s advise is also correct I think. I should go for private domain & host it with wordpress software. So that in the future, this problem won’t occur.

Google has locked my Blog today. Today when I opened my account, I was greeted by following message.
"This blog has been locked due to possible Blogger Terms of Service violations. You may not publish new posts until your blog is reviewed and unlocked.
This blog will be deleted within 20 days unless you request a review"

According to Google's Spider, This Blog has been flaged as a Spam & it requires a Human approval from their side to unlock it..........!!!!!!

Dear Google......For God's Sake..............Don't delete this Blog..............
