Ratan Tata Successor
Who will be the Next Chairman of TATA Group?
This is the hot favourite topic of discussion right now in the Indian corporate world. This is because the successor of Ratan Tata will become the chairman of TATA Sons, the key holding company of the entire group and direct the TATA Sons after that for next several decades.
There are several possibilities for this. I have already written in my article that, there are two possibilities for the next chairman of TATA Sons.
01) Mr. Noel Tata (Son in law of Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry)
02) Mr. Cyrus Mistry (The son of Pallonji SHapoorji Mistry)
Basically Pallonji holds 18% stake in TATA Sons, the key holding company of TATA Group which he divided 9% each among his two sons in early 2010.
However, Mr.Ratan Tata told that,
its nine-member board has formed a selection committee comprising five members, including an external member, "to decide on a suitable successor". The committee would look at candidates both within the organisation and outside. It is expected that the final selection would be made in "adequate time to effect a smooth transition and change of leadership" before Tata hangs up his boots.
Ratan Tata will retire in December 2012 at the age of 75 years. Let us see that who becomes the successor of Mr.Tata.
