Ratan Tata as a Leader

Ratan Tata is the chairman of TATA Sons, the key holding company of TATA Group and a great leader.

He is my one of the most favourite leader and under his leadership, TATA Sons grew to new heights.

He became the chairman of TATA Group in 1991. He was born in old Parsi family of Bombay on 28th December, 1937. He received his Bachelor’s degree in architecture from America’s Cornell University in 1962.

The TATA Group has almost 100 businesses out of which 28 are publically listed. TATA Group is always known for its business ethics and corporate governance.

Ratan Tata is a great leader and ethical person. He has never bribe anyone to do a business. He is a deep thinker and extremely strategic.

He is also a risk taker. He says,

“If you put a gun to my head, you had better take the gun away or pull trigger, because I am not moving.”

According to his various group companies CEOs, he will give brief and accurate solutions and there won’t be any room for doubts. This gives his CEOs the confidence to do cross border deals.

One of the most great character about him is – Ethics.

He has never bribe anyone to expand his business. In fact, in 80s when TATA Group wanted to start an aviation business, he refused to give bribe to the aviation minister at that time.

Thus, Ratan Tata is a great leader.
