Arpita Singh’s Painting “Wish Dreams: sold for Rs.9.6 Crores ($ 2.4 Million)

Delhi artist Arpita Singh has established a new record. Her mural, titled “Wish Dream”, fetched Rs 9.6 crore ($2.24 million) at a Saffronart online auction on Thursday. With this, the 73-year-old has become the country's top-selling woman artist worldwide. reported Economic Times.

Arpita Singh was born in 1937 in West Bengal, India. She is a famous Indian artist.
She attended the, "School of Art, Delhi Polytechnic in New Delhi" and right after he graduation she worked for the Indian Government's "Cottage Industries Restoration Program". During her work with the Government she met traditional artists and weavers in India, from which she got the inspiration of artwork.
