Domain Flipping Scam
Domain Names are the real estates of the Internet. Investors invest in Domain Names for Income from a natural organic (Search Engine) web traffic as well as for huge capital gains. Domain Names are the Intellectual properties in it’s purest form.
SitePoint.com & Flippa.com are the Online Marketplaces for the Domain and Website Flipping. Sedo.com is the marketplace which is only dedicated to the Domain Flipping. However, there are lots of Scams in Domain Flipping Business.
One of the commonest Scam is the Domain Name Valuation Scam. Let me give you my own Example. I Personally invest in Domain Names. I have a portfolio of Domain Names which I buy from the GoDaddy.com. Just few months back, I received the offer to buy whole of my Domain Portfolio from a Private Domain Investor.
So I started negotiating the deal with him. Now, after few days he advised me to go for an independent Domain Appraisal Service. Now, those who don’t know anything about Domain Appraisal services, let me tell you that what is it? Well, it is the Domain Valuation Services. The third party independently do the valuation of your Domain names for few hundred bugs and give you a detailed report about your Domain Name Valuation. Here are the 2 reputable Domain Appraisal services on the Internet.
01) Sedo.com &
02) Moniker.com
Now, this person has suggested me to go for some other Domain Appraisal service which was asking me $ 200 for the Valuation of my 7 Domain Names Portfolio. I go to Google to find out the review about that Domain Appraisal Service and I was really shocked.
Actually this was a Scam. In reality, the Domain Appraisal services themselves hire people to go for their service. Once you give money to that Domain Appraisal service, they will do the Domain Appraisal for you but after that the Investor will fly away without entering into the deal.
So What I advise to everyone is that, if someone ask you for the valuation of your Domain Names than always go for reputed Domain Appraisal Services like Sedo.com & Moniker.com
Stay way from such kind of Domain Appraisal Scams.
