Recession has eroded the valuations of almost every Assets in this world. So the Portfolios of HNIs are also get affected. Previously the HNIs had got used to abnormal high returns, say 25-100%. And that’s why right now during the time of Recession, they find situation hard to swallow.
For the new rich, who acquired this status in the last decade, wealth managers say uneasiness is even more because their earnings have dipped and they know that their bonus payouts are likely to be less convincing this year.
Some HNIs are also showing financial anxieties about the secured future. They are worried that their kids may never enjoy the same luxuries of life when they grow up.
And not only this, but some HNIs wealth has been wiped out during the time of Recession. One Doctor of Ahmedabad city who was HNI previously had wiped out all of his wealth while playing a Crude oil trading.
During the initial part of the last financial year, HNIs were extremely disturbed, agitated & upset. Gradually they started realizing the world all asset classes have depreciated significantly.
A Typical portfolio of the wealthy today only varies between conservative and balanced. Rich are now focusing on a low risk portfolio and giving more respect to simplicity and transparency.
