Online Loans- The Truth about Online Lenders
I love the internet. And who out there doesn’t find it useful in some form? These days it seems like you can do just about anything online, including getting loans and credit cards. No more applying in person, no more mailing in forms and waiting for a response. No, folks, in today’s rush-rush society where everyone is gunning to hurry up and wait, you can even have instant gratification from online loans instead of having to make an appointment, fill out paperwork, and wait days for a response. How great is that?
There is one thing I don’t like about online loans and all the different lenders out there. It seems like there are so many choices for a lender anymore. Before, you had your standard banks and mortgage companies, along with a few specialty finance lenders that you might find here and there. Today, everyone has an online lending business, or so it seems. The hard part about online loans is figuring out which companies actually lend you the money, and which ones are just a referral service looking to make some money off of your business.
There’s nothing wrong with using sites like Lending Tree and eLoan, as well as the variety of other sites like this that exist. They might be able to get you three or four loan quotes from one application, which is a bonus. However, it’s likely that they are getting you the same loans you could get on your own, but with a higher interest rate or fees to make up for their profits. Some lenders will try to tell you that these companies just provide free services, but they really don’t. Take a minute to fill out a loan application with one of these sites, and then when you get your information back, go ahead and fill out an application directly with one of the ‘approved lenders’ that you are given.
Sometimes, the rates will be the same. However, it’s more likely that you’ll get a little bit better deal by working directly with the lender. Online loans are so readily available that you might need to take a minute to make sure that you are doing the right thing when you get your loans. There are even a few companies out there that will take your money and run, so I suggest that you check out every single company you apply with to make sure that they’re the real deal.
