PSV agree to sign Dutch assist-machine

PSV Eindhoven are on the verge of signing winger Luciano Narsingh from Heerenveen, Voetbal International understands.



The Dutch giants have opened negotiations with their Eredivisie rivals a few weeks ago and it appears they have finally reached an agreement over the transfer fee.



Voetbal International reports that PSV have agreed a €4.1 million fee for the talented winger and all that’s left is for the player and his representatives to trash out personal terms.



The player is expected to undergo a medical at Philips Stadium on Sunday, after which he will sign a long-term deal with the Dutch giants.



Ajax were also in the race for the highly rated midfielder, but the Amsterdammers were not willing to meet Heerenveen’s asking price.



Luciano Narsingh, who began his professional career in Heerenveen, has been in scintillating form last season, scoring 8 goals and producing amazing 22 assists in 34 Eredivisie games.

Toon talk to Swedish ace

Newcastle are believed to have already opened talks with PSV Eindhoven over a potential move for striker Ola Toivonen.



The Magpies are tracking the 25-year-old Sweden international who played against England at Euro 2012 and although an offer has yet to be made, reports in Holland say initial talks have taken place.



Toon boss Alan Pardew is on the look out for a new striker and is known to be keen on FC Twente star Luuk de Jong, however Toivonen would be a much cheaper option at £5million.



As usual a host of clubs, including Sunderland, have also been linked with a move for the Swede but Newcastle are likely to be favourites if Pardew pursues his interest.



Toivonen has a contract until 2014 but says he is open to a move should PSV decide to sell.



"If something interesting comes along, I will look into it," he revealed. "There are rumours, but I have learned to live with them. I don't know which clubs are really interested."



Much will also depend on the future of Demba Ba, who is set to hold talks with Pardew when the Magpies return for pre-season training next week.

Tottenham face competition for striker

Tottenham are poised to miss out on PSV star Ola Toivonen, with clubs from Italy believed to be interested in the striker.



The White Hart Lane outfit a keen to recruit a striker over the summer and have already begun talks with Manchester City about the possibility of turning Emmanuel Adebayor's loan deal permanent. But while negotiations continue with City the London club could miss out on other targets.



Sweden forward Toivonen is one of those on Spurs' shortlist and the 25-year-old has admitted he is ready to move on in the summer.



The former Malmo man is highly-rated, after hitting 18 goals in 33 Eredivisie games last season, and is set to feature for Sweden at this summer's Euro 2012.



However, Harry Redknapp could miss out on the forward with reports today suggesting Italian duo Fiorentina and Genoa are poised to steal a march on Spurs by lodging a £7million bid.



With the European Championships a little under a fortnight away, Toivonen may be keen to secure his future before it gets underway, meaning Spurs will have to move quickly if they want to land their man.

Van Bommel returns to PSV

Van Bommel has signed a one-year contract to return to PSV Eindhoven, saying he wants to help the club win its first title since 2008.



The 35-year-old midfielder is leaving AC Milan after 18 months to return to the club where he won four Dutch league titles in six years from 1999-2005.



"This feels a bit like coming home," Van Bommel told reporters in Eindhoven.



He said the move back to the club where he first made his name was not a case of easing into retirement.



"I believe I can still be of value to this team and help PSV win the title back after a number of years," said Van Bommel.



"In Italy, they don't look at whether you are young or old - you are good or bad and in Italy they still think I'm good."



The hard-tackling midfielder announced his departure from the Serie A on AC Milan's website over the weekend.



After leaving PSV, he joined Barcelona, before transferring to Bayern Munich and then Milan. He won league titles with each club.



Van Bommel, who has made 74 international appearances, is expected to captain the Netherlands at the European Championship next month. The World Cup runner-up is in a tough group, with Germany, Portugal and Denmark.
