Hulk admits future doubts

Hulk has admitted he could leave Zenit St Petersburg when the transfer window reopens if his relationship with Luciano Spalletti does not improve.

Hulk has admitted he could leave Zenit St Petersburg when the transfer window reopens if his relationship with Luciano Spalletti does not improve.

The Brazilian striker joined Zenit in a mega-money move from Porto in the summer but has struggled to find his best form and did not shake hands with Zenit boss Spalletti as he was substituted during Tuesday's UEFA Champions League match against AC Milan.

He later revealed that he may have to consider his future in January, with a number of clubs in Italy reported to be interested.

"I feel well in St Petersburg, my family is happy and my son too," he told Mediaset Premium Calcio.

"But if the situation with Luciano Spalletti doesn't improve, I might leave in January. I don't know if Italy will be my destination, but anything can happen."

Spalletti responded to Hulk's comments by insisting that he has the right to make changes if a player is not performing.

"He can say what he wants," said Spalletti. "He can be disappointed, but if I substitute him it is because I am not satisfied with his performance.

"Has he said he wants to go? I don't know what to do about that. I'm staying here."

Spalletti has a contract with Zenit until 2015 and is paying no attention to rumours linking him with AC Milan, although he admits he would love to manage in the Premier League one day.

"I still have a great desire to work in Russia. I have extended my contract with Zenit and I'm in tune with the president," he explained.

"Me to AC Milan ? Now I'm too old for it. But I would like another experience abroad, maybe in the Premier League."

Chelsea yet to agree Hulk deal

World Football understands Chelsea have yet to reach an agreement with Porto for the signing of striker Hulk.

Speculation has suggested Chelsea are on the brink of tying up the transfer of Hulk, whose contract commands a reported €100 million release clause.

It is claimed Porto could accept a fee nearer £38 million for the Brazilian, who this weekend hinted that he could be ready to leave Estadio do Dragao.

However, when asked about the reports, a source has told ESPN: "I wish that was true, but there is no deal with Chelsea."

It is also understood that Chelsea, who are said to be in the market for a forward following Didier Drogba's exit, deem Atletico Madrid forward Falcao out of their price range at present.

Atletico are seeking £45 million for the Colombia international, whose goals helped guide Atletico to Europa League glory this campaign.

Hulk edging closer to Chelsea move

Porto forward Hulk's proposed move to Chelsea is 90 per cent complete, according to The Telegraph.

The highly-rated Brazilian has been sought after by the Stamford Bridge outfit for a while, with many expecting the 25-year-old to follow former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas to Stamford Bridge a year ago.

The move did not materialise, however, with Hulk remaining at Porto for a further year. Yet it now seems the Blues have got their man, with a £40 million fee reportedly agreed.

Hulk enjoyed another successful campaign at Porto last season, scoring 21 goals in 38 games as he helped guide the Portuguese giants to their second successive league title.

Porto were thought to be holding out for the £80m release clause in the Brazilian's contract. However, they appear to have now accepted that is an unrealistic goal and are willing to negotiate.

Should the move be completed, Chelsea's summer spending will already have neared the £80m mark having already secured £6.5m Marko Marin and with £32m Eden Hazard set to sign.
