How Much Does Ramesh Chandra Make?
Ramesh Chandra is the founder of the multi-billion dollar Indian Real Estate company Unitech. As of 11 March 2009, his net worth was estimated at $600 million, which dropped from $9.6 billion just a year back. This was mainly due to the huge reduction in Unitech stock price amid real estate meltdown.
After completing a short stint at the Bridge and Roof Company in Kolkata post his graduation, he left to major in Structural Engineering from the University of Southampton in England. However, family responsibilities beckoned, and he being the eldest son decided to move back to India in 1965 to start working at a government laboratory in Roorkee. In 1967 he married a graduate from AIIMS, Delhi, and the couple moved back to Delhi in the following year where his wife undertook a research assignment at AIIMS while he started his practice as a structural engineer. Finally in 1972, along with four of his friends, he started the United Technical Consultant Private Ltd., primarily a soil investigation company, in Delhi.
