Health Insurance India may Include Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha

Health Insurance India may include Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha

Right now the Health insurance policies don’t cover expenses that incurred because of Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha. But According to Economic Times,

“The department of Ayush has approached the General Insurance Council for looking at the possibility of accepting claims under the non-allopathic means of treatment,” said a person familiar with the development at the Council. “They made a presentation to council members, who in turn, have formed a three-member committee to look into the matter.”

This can be really a good move by IRDA and the government of India. This is because the large portion of Indian population still take the treatment in alternative forms other than allopathic treatment.

So if this proposal gets approved, people can claim on Aurveda, Unani and Siddha treatments as well.

However, there will be side effect also. The main problem is that, after implementing such kind of changes, scams will increase. Many untrained and unauthorized people will start practicing ayurveda, unani and other forms of alternative treatment.

The false claims rate will increase like hell after this change. But let us see that what happens in the future?
