Ahmedabad – The Fastest Growing Indian City by Forbes

Ahmedabad – The Fastest Growing Indian City by Forbes

Forbes on 07th October 2010 said that, Ahmedabad is India’s one of the fastest growing city of India. Another fastest growing city of India is Chennai which has created 100,000 jobs in this single year.

The per capita Income of people of Ahmedabad is more than twice the average per capita income of India.

Well, the readers who don’t know much about me, let me tell you that my home town is Ahmedabad and I born in Ahmedabad in 1983. And since my childhood, I have seen several ups and downs of the city.

And yes, I can say that Forbes is right. This is because on the past 5 years only (Since 2005), Ahmedabad city has grown like anything.

According to Forbes, Ahmedabad is the fastest growing city of the next decade.

This is the largest metropolitan region in Gujarat, perhaps the most market-oriented and business-friendly of Indian states. Gujarat's policies helped lure away the new Tata Nano plant from West Bengal (Kolkata) to Sanand, one of Gurajat's exurbs. One Indian academic, Sedha Menon, compares the state--which has developed infrastructure more quickly than its domestic rivals--with Singapore and parts of Malaysia. Per-capita incomes in Gujarat are more than twice the national average. India's seventh-largest city has a population of roughly 5.7 million and is expected, according to the U.N., to grow to over 7.6 million by 2025.

Well, Forbes is absolutely right. Ahmedabad can grow in 3 directions. It does not have any sea line like Mumbai. And yes, the Business environment is also really really good.

I have personally seen several first generation entrepreneurs who have developed their own business empire out of scratch and today they are multi-millionaires and even billionaires.

Thus, Ahmedabad is really India’s fastest growing city.

If you visit Ahmedabad than let me know. I will be really happy to meet you.
