Can I Open More than One Demat Account?

Recently a reader has asked me a question that, “Can I Open more than one Demat Account?”

Well, the Answer is – Of course Yes. You can open as many Demat Accounts as you want. You can open 100 Demat accounts with different brokers also. There are lots of reputed brokers in India such as SBI, ICICI, Sharekhan, Religare, 5paise, Artha Money, Reliance Money…etc…

Just remember that, What you can’t do with Multiple Demat Accounts with Single Name. You can’t subscribe any IPO for more than once from the Demat account having the same Name. Suppose if the IPO Maximum limit is Rs.1 Lakh than you can’t subscribe that IPO via 5 different Demat accounts opened by you.

Otherwise, you can open as many Demat accounts as you want…!!!
