General Motors is the largest automotive Industry Bankruptcy ever.
Recently, General Motors the world’s largest carmaker until its 77 year reign ended last year, filed for bankruptcy protection in the US with a plan to create a 21-st century company that can compete in world markets.
GM reported US $ 82.29 Billion in Assets and US $ 172.81 Billion in Debt. The US government plans to convert much of the US $ 50 Billion loans into a 60% stake in the new entity.
